Operation "Honey in Bengal"
West Bengal is known for its natural reserve of the Sunderbans which covers a wide part of the delta of the Ganges. The region remains poor and fishing or small farming are the basic resources of the populations.
For centuries, the natives also "picked" some wild honey which they find in the virgin forest.
BePangea examines the possibility of organizing with the local population a controlled and environment-friendly production by creating home-made hives which avoid the destruction of the colonies of bees.
This work will be made with the cooperation of university researchers because numerous studies are worldwide in progress on the reasoned use it this resource.
